Tasker Insurance Group is an insurance intermediary group with Retail and Wholesale Broking businesses, including a Lloyd’s broking team, and an MGA, Gresham Underwriting.  Employing 90+ staff in five UK offices we provide insurance broking and risk management solutions to businesses and their people, as well as wholesale broking support to other UK Brokers.


Tasker & Partners specialise in the placement of UK and International capacity and binding authority arrangements for Managing General Agents MGAs and Coverholders.

Purpose of the Role

The Commercial Account Handler is a central function to the Wholesale team.

The role encompasses broker liaison, account management and commercial insurance account handling functions. A consistent, enthusiastic and efficient approach to ensure broker satisfaction, is considered essential to the delivery of targeted growth for the business.  The role holder will ensure that outstanding service standards are adhered to, individual targets are met and delivered upon contributing to the team’s overall objectives in a compliant manner in accordance with both FCA and TIG Policy requirements.

The role holder will have fantastic interpersonal skills both on the phone and in-person as communication with the TPL broking team is vital to the team’s collective success.

Key Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • To work closely with the Account Handlers to ensure that all broker instructions and requirements are handled promptly and accurately
  • Attend team meetings as required
  • To operate in accordance with company agreed processes
  • Own account retention proactively by efficient / prompt handling of all matters – day-to-day enquiries, renewals, risk administration etc
  • Maintain and increase margins from existing account as evidence by retention rates and commission
  • Proactive desk-based development of new business streams from existing producing brokers.
  • Assisting the Broking team in securing and closing new business orders
  • To assist with product development as required



  • Renewal Retention
  • Service times within agreed team parameters.
  • Organic New Business Generation


Governance and Process

  • TCF measures – including Complaints
  • File audits – completion rates and performance
  • E&O – incidents, outcomes and learning
  • CPD maintained each year


Skills & Knowledge


  •  Cert CII or above desirable



  •  Self-Motivated
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that company processes and procedures are followed
  • Communicating, influencing and relationship building
  • Forward planning
  • Team Working



  •  Good understanding of General Insurance classes.  Minimum 5 years experience.
  • Experience in Construction/Liability/Property/Professional Indemnity business
  • Experience of Lloyd’s systems including ECF, XIS, DA SATS, PPL desirable



Remuneration Package

This will consist of:

  • Salary range up  to £ 25,000 dependent on experience
  • 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • Membership of the Group Death in Services plan *
  • Membership of the Group Income Protection plan *
  • Workplace Pension Scheme
  • 6 months probationary period
